Let’s begin this blog by addressing a topic that deeply concerns new parents: child safety. In this post I review the Nanit Pro monitor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m not sure about your experiences before becoming parents, but when my partner and I were expecting our first child, we were inundated with information about Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) for infants under six months old. The possibility of such an occurrence haunted us for months, and we were eager to find ways to mitigate the risk or at least be alerted to act promptly if necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enter the Nanit Pro Smart Baby Monitor<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

That’s when we discovered a device that provided some peace of mind and helped us sleep better at night: The Nanit<\/a>. With the Nanit<\/a>, we would wrap our newborn in a special swaddle and place a camera on top of the cradle to monitor our baby. The camera’s feed would be accessible on our phones, allowing us to check if our baby was sleeping soundly, the quality of their sleep, and most importantly, if they were breathing properly throughout the night. Of course, our parental instincts would occasionally prompt us to visually confirm our baby’s breathing, but over time, we grew more confident in the Nanit<\/a>‘s ability to track our child’s breath without our constant supervision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While exploring options like a sock that measures babies’ oxygen<\/a> levels at all times (especially during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic when oxygen levels were a concern), we ultimately decided on the Nanit<\/a>. We felt that the sock would inundate us with an overwhelming amount of minute-to-minute information about our child, and we believed we made the right choice with the Nanit<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every Child is Different<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It’s important to note that every child is unique, and the same was true for our second baby. Our second son preferred being held more often than being in the crib, unlike our first daughter. As a result, he spent a lot of time sleeping with us. In these cases, we resorted to the traditional method of ensuring our baby’s well-being: visually observing him and placing a hand on his chest to confirm his breathing during the night. Fortunately, having the experience of raising our first child significantly reduced our anxiety about child safety with our second child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even now, we continue to use the Nanit <\/a>for our baby’s naps and nighttime sleep, but we don’t delve deeply into the information it provides about his sleep cycles or how we can improve his sleep. Instead, we focus on the peace of mind it offers and how it contributes to our overall well-being during the night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I highly recommend purchasing this product, as the peace of mind it provides is invaluable.
